핵심 이론

2형식 ‘A + 동사(be 포함) + B’의 형태이며, B에는 주로 형용사가 온다.
He became smart. 그는 똑똑해졌다.
She is happy. 그녀는 행복하다

대표적인 2형식 동사

➊ ~이다 be동사 + 보어
➋ ~가 되다 become, get, grow, go, turn, run + 보어
➌ ~인 것 같다 seem, appear + 보어
➍ ~인 상태로 있다 remain, stay + 보어
➎ ~하게 느껴지다, 보이다, 들리다 feel, look, sound + 보어

▶ be동사 뒤는 형용사(available) 자리이다. 참고로 online(온라인상에서)은 부사로 쓰였다.

회사 중역들은 3년 안에 수익이 날 것으로 예상하고 있다.
▶ become 뒤는 형용사(profitable) 자리이다.
The building remained unoccupied during the construction period.
공사 기간 동안 그 빌딩은 빈 채로 있었다.
▶ remained 뒤는 형용사(unoccupied) 자리이다.
Sonoma Company is a leading manufacturer of commercial kitchen appliances.
Sonoma 사는 상업용 주방 기구의 선두적인 제조업체다.
▶ be동사 뒤 명사(manufacturer) 자리이다. (Sonoma Company = a leading manufacturer)
