Fingerprints
1
Humans have fingerprints on (there / their) fingers. Every finger has its
2
own (same / unique) pattern. No two people in the world have the exact
4
3 (same / unique) set of lines of fingerprints. Not even identical (brothers
/ twins) have the same fingerprints. Your fingerprints stay the same from
6
5
the time you’re born (by / until) death. So fingerprints can be used (on
/ as) evidence to catch criminals.
Humans are not the only ones with fingerprints. Gorillas, chimpanzees,
7
8
and koala bears have (its / their) own prints. They are pretty similar (to
/ in) human fingerprints.
So why do we have fingerprints? Fingerprints make the ends of our fingers
9 (smooth / rough). This improves our sense of 10 (smell / touch). Also,
11
rough skin helps us (hold / touch) onto things.
